The second Saturday of the month is fast approaching. Food City will again be preparing a free breakfast for Veterans at the American Legion Hall on Veterans St up the hill from the Sheriff’s Department. The breakfast is for all Veterans, their family, friends, and supporters, and will be held on March 14. Meet at 8:00 to shoot the breeze. Breakfast will be ready at 8:30.

This breakfast is sponsored by the Union County High School Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (NJROTC). Contrary to popular belief, JROTC is not a recruitment tool for the military! Only around 40% of these students pursue military careers. JROTC is a citizen development program. The curriculum covers physical fitness, personal hygiene, college readiness, and personal finance. These are courses that provide an excellent foundation for any career our students may choose. The Veterans are very grateful to the UCHS NJROTC for sponsoring the next Veterans breakfast.

The food is delicious, and it goes quickly! Remember: Saturday, March 14th, at 8:00 to see old friends and meet new ones. 8:30 for all the breakfast you can eat! See you there!
