Good cookin' and ice cream at Jones Farm

Chamber, UCBPA, and elected officials open The Diner at Jones Farm in Big Ridge.

Neighbors from all over Union County celebrated The Grand Opening of The Diner at Jones Farm on Thursday, August 27, 2026. The Diner is owned by Kara Cox Daley and is part of the area Twisters Restaurants. Kara, who is home grown, greeted folks with that welcoming smile and handed them an ice cream scoop with a dessert coupon attached. Kara accompanied by her husband and daughter cut the ribbon with a giant pair of scissors provided by the Union County Chamber.

Chamber President Charlie Hamilton and Chairman Martin Shafer welcomed everyone and related that there would be more grand openings coming soon. Mayor Jason Bailey related a story of how he and Kara worked together at Hensley's Grocery and shared how proud he was of Kara and her opening of the Diner. UCBPA President Tammie Hill exclaimed how glad she was to be friends with Trevor Jones and his family and voiced her excitement for their new business. Stoney Point Bluegrass Band provided the country music.

The Chamber and UCBPA supported the event.with free coffee cups, balloons, and invitations to Thunder in the Park and the Heritage Festival as well as membership information. So y'all have breakfast, lunch, and supper at the corner of Hickory Star Road and Hickory Valley Road, then gather on the porch to enjoy a hot fudge sundae or a twister!
