ETN Celebrates America's 250th Anniversary
The USA turns 250 on July 4, 2026. But the prelude celebrations are happening right now. Several local museums and libraries in Tennessee will be hosting celebrations for America's 250th Birthday, known as the American Semiquinncentennial Celebration. Sycamore Shoals State Park will perform "Liberty! The Saga of Sycamore Shoals" on June 19-21 and on June 26-28. Sycamore Shoals was one the foundations for democracy not only in Tennessee but also the nation. Pop-up exhibitions unfolding the American Revolution Experience are also offered through a collaborative project of the American Battlefield Trust and the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Some nearby traveling exhibitions of the American Revolution in Tennessee include: Art Circle Library in Crossville (June 18-27),Morgan County Heritage Museum in Wartburg (June 30-July 8), Children's Museum of Oak Ridge (July 10-19), King Family Library in Sevierville (July 21-30), Rose Center and Council for the Arts in Morristown (August 1-9), and Greeneville Greene County Museum (August 12-21).
So get the kids off of the screens and take a day to one of these sites to learn about our road to freedom and our American Heritage.
