A Changing America: Part V

By James Perry

Sitting in my bedroom/office looking out our double glass doors across the porch and seeing no leaves moving, and shadows forming as the late afternoon sun sinks slowly in the west. Our first really hot weather has arrived with temperatures forecast to hit nearly 100 degrees here in Tennessee. Also, the daylight hours have started getting shorter and will continue getting shorter until December 21. It’s hard to believe that shorter daylight hours starts when summer begins.

Well, getting down to business, this month’s article will continue with a year-by-year recap of happenings from the year 2000 ’til the year 2020. By studying the list, you will see quite a change from the 1960s ’til 2000. You will not see as many innovations or accomplishments and the United States saw more American products and American manufacturing companies moving to foreign countries.

Our two largest big box chain retailers SKUs went from “made in America” to “made in China.” The American middle class had been shrinking with the exodus of American manufacturers moving offshore. The American dream was shrinking like a “made in China” cotton shirt after its first washing.
Here’s the list:

As you can tell by reviewing the preceding list of happenings from 2001-2019, the American dream was fading. The young growing up through these two decades were being gradually brainwashed in our schools and by social media into trying to re-make boys more feminine and young girls more masculine. Our young were spending most of their time on computers and on smart phones. Boys no longer rode bicycles, learned to fish and hunt or played boys’ games like baseball, basketball, swimming or running. As the boys grew into the teen years they did not get jobs in stores, save money to buy an old jalopy or motorcycle or date girls. They had been conditioned not to touch girls as that was “inappropriate.”

Today, as boys graduate high school most do not have any future plans. They intend to stay with their parents. No wonder there’s a drop in marriages, and babies being born today. This is a worldwide problem. All except the third world countries, which are experiencing a declining population caused by indoctrination of boys for the last two decades.

The young girls of today are “putting on their faces” by the time they reach twelve years old. During the ’60s a 12 year old girl was still playing with her Barbie doll. At 12 years old now they are wearing either sloppy clothes or very revealing clothing with accompanying loads of makeup, and the mothers protect and encourage this.

A large percentage of today’s young kids don’t date. They hook up as they now call it. Therefore, a larger percentage of the babies that are born are born out of wedlock. Guess who winds up raising these babies. That’s right, the grandparents, great grandparents, aunts and uncles. Today, at least as long as the old folks are physically able to look after the children, they are fed, kept mostly clean and put to bed at the proper times.

To listen to a good song, go to your computer and type in “Cry Baby Heart” by George Morgan.

By the way, Jerry Byrd plays steel guitar on this song.

See you next month.
