Celebrate Country at the 22nd Heritage Festival on October 3, 2026! Visitors can park at Union County High School and enjoy the main event in Wilson Park or board the Free Shuttle (the big yellow bus) sponsored by Monroe Bus Lines, State Farm Insurance, and City of Plainview to travel to the Farmers Market Pavilion for produce and farm products, the Union County Museum for the Heritage Day Quilt Show, and the Snodderly House for the Art Show. All venues are open from 10:00 to 4:00.

Enjoy early festivities and music. Attend the Friday Night Music Jam at Heritage Park on October 2, from 7:00 to 9:00. Start your celebrating even earlier at the Heritage Art Show Reception and Awards on Thursday, October 1, at the Snodderly House from 5:00 to 7:00.

On Festival Day, begin with a parade led by the UCHS Marching Band at 10:00. Then join in the opening as the Veterans and Boy Scouts lead the American Pledge and the UCHS Band and Choir perform the National Anthem.

On the grounds will be more than 100 vendors. Purchase the collectible print by Betty Bullen at Booth 65. Get some barbeque at Uncle B's BBQ, a hamburger, Italian sausage, tacos, beans and cornbread, hotdogs, fried balogna, or chicken 'n dumplins for lunch along with your favorite soda or lemonade. Then head to the Gazebo or the Country Gospel tent for the best bluegrass, country, and gospel music to fill your heart.

On the Gazebo Stage, The UCHS Band and Choir open followed by a foot stompin' performance by the Union County Line Dancers. A tribute to Kenny Chesney happens at 11:30. Catch Tennessee Brushfire and Southern Spirit after the tribute. Rounding out the afternoon will be True Blue and Sleepy-Eyed John. The finale is country rock group Tim Childress and the Unwound Band!

But maybe gospel sung country style is more to your likin'. Then take your late breakfast or early lunch to the Country Gospel Tent beginning at 10:00 to hear BTN Band, Southern Spirit, Ben Woods and Friends, Violet and Josh Maynard, the Darrell Williams Group, and the Hubbs Grove Boys.

house, train, face painting, petting zoo, and Imagination Library

Remember to get dessert. In the name of patriotism, enjoy a funnel cake, gourmet cupcakes, some fudge, or an icy cold scoop of ice cream from Sticks and Scoops at Wilson Park. As you return to your car, purchase a couple of Little Valley Nursery Mums to decorate your home for fall.
