Calling All Veterans!

Another opportunity for Veterans to gather together for fellowship and food! On Saturday, April 11, all Veterans are invited to the American Legion Post 212 to meet and chat at 8:00 am. The breakfast line will open at 8:30, and there is always plenty of food for seconds. If you know of any Veterans who cannot make the breakfast, please be sure to take them a to-go box! After breakfast, Veteran and VA news and updates will be shared. The event is over by 9:30.

The staff of the Trinity Funeral Home is very supportive of Veterans and is pleased to sponsor this breakfast for them.

Burial practices have evolved over 100,000 years, originating in prehistoric rituals that reflect belief in an afterlife. Early customs included shallow graves with grave goods, while ancient civilizations like Egypt and Rome introduced complex mummification, tombs, and public processions. Burial techniques have shifted between burial and cremation, influenced by religion, status, and environmental factors.

Today, burial practices vary widely, including traditional in-ground burial with caskets, cremation, and the increasing popularity of "green" or natural burials. Trinity Funeral Home in Maynardville offers Funeral, Cremation and Memorial Services. The American Legion Post 212 is very grateful for its sponsorship of the next Breakfast for Veterans!
