The Phyllis Diller Guide to spring cleaning

I remember watching Hollywood Squares on television when I was a kid. Many of the finer details of the show are slipping into the dark area of my brain known as the distant past, but I remember the major points.
Hosted by Peter Marshall, the show was something of a game show fashioned from tic-tac-toe. Nine celebrities were seated within a gigantic tic-tac-toe framework. Two contestants competed by selecting celebrities which were asked somewhat inane questions. The contestant either agreed or disagreed with the celebrities’ answers and received credit if correct.

Why Easter Sunday moves around

As you know, Easter Sunday is not locked down on the calendar. I knew it had something to do with astronomy, so I did some research to figure out the how and the why. My findings were complicated, but here is my best shot at it.
Easter is defined as a “moveable feast,” meaning it is not a fixed to a set calendar date.

Cheesy Egg Bake

Here is a dish for Easter time when you have all those hard-boiled decorated eggs. The kids delighted in decorating them, but they were spurned for the chocolate rabbit and jelly beans in their baskets. Use the hard-boiled eggs in this recipe.

A deep dive into Matthew 4:19

For every event involving Jesus in the New Testament there is a corresponding Old Testament backstory.
Matthew 4:19 is that famous verse in which Jesus calls his first disciples to become “fishers of men.”
As with most biblical events this backstory naturally starts in the book of Genesis, which everyone should already know means “the beginning.” “In the beginning God created the heaven and earth.” (Genesis 1:1)

The Princess Dress

What’s a little tomboy to do in this situation? I think most of them would run screaming, but not me.
First, I need to admit a deep, dark secret. While I was digging up bugs and “wrassling” with my uncle, I wanted to be a princess.
I have always loved castles, tiaras, and yes, the beautiful puffy dresses. That’s what I called dresses that had a full skirt.
Anyway, why did I feel that way? I’m not sure exactly. When I was a little girl, my mom would read old fairy tales to me each night before I went to bed. Plus, I used to watch princesses on TV shows and in movies.

Ice Cream Has Come to Town

This past weekend provided us with a taste of summer, complete with sunshine, high temperatures, and ice cream. If you were lucky enough to stop by Sticks&Scoops in Maynardville for their grand opening on March 25th/26th, you undoubtedly felt like you were partaking in a fun summer event! I treated my children to some ice cream on Sunday evening and was shocked by the amazing turnout.

Going to Nashville

By now, most of you are aware of how fidgety I am in that I cannot sit still. So, what does that mean? Unless we are being beamed somewhere, I am not somebody you want to go on a long trip with. Unfortunately for my parents, they never received that memo.

What Does A Chiropractor Do?

Chiropractors are licensed professionals with doctorate degrees who use a hands-on approach to ease pain and inflammation by manipulating parts of your body.

The philosophy behind chiropractic care is that your body can heal itself with interventions performed by a chiropractor.

Chiropractic care, like physical therapy, doesn’t involve taking medications or undergoing surgery. You may want to try chiropractic care before undergoing more invasive treatments.
