We have been studying God’s Covenant with mankind, in particular the “Terms and Conditions.” In the previous two editions of this subject we first examined the “Verbal Agreement” between God and man. Next, we examined the “Terms and Conditions” of the “Written Agreement”. This written agreement is commonly known as the “Ten Commandments.” Nearly every Christian is familiar with the Ten Commandments; however, most don’t know or have conveniently forgotten that there are “Terms and Conditions” attached to God’s Law.

Catfish? That's not a panfish. I grew up eating sunfish, bluegills and such, really whatever Dad could catch. The closest we came to catfish were bullheads and suckers. There would be sucker runs in the spring near where we lived. As a fish, they left a lot to be desired with tiny barbed bones throughout the flesh making them difficult to eat. I didn't much care for bullheads, either. They looked like small catfish, same whiskers and skin. Yeah, skin. They had to be skinned. Dad had a flare for doing that. I never did get the hang of it. I preferred bluegills.

COMMUNITY WORSHIP AND REVIVAL FOR LUTTRELL 2018.
May 10th Several Pastors, Deacons, & Members of area Churches came together at the Luttrell Ball field to pray for the Community Worship and Revival scheduled to begin July 30th, Jeff Leach, Pastor of Cedar Ford Baptist Church Began the meeting making sure everyone understood this Revival is not about any one Church but this is a Revival with one goal “Preaching Jesus” and reaching out to the entire community.

The Winery at Seven Springs Farm hosted a special guest May 3, as Tennessee USDA Director Jim Tracy dropped in to meet the Riddle family and celebrate their success.

Tracy has been Tennessee's USDA director since November 2017, and since then he's been touring the state to meet farmers and farm businesses. A former District 14 state Senator with a degree in agriculture education, Tracy was complimentary of the farm, the winery, and the family's contribution to Union County's economy.

Our next Memoir Writing Class will be May 9th at 9:30 A.M. at the Senior Center in Maynardville. All are welcome!

Our previous class on April 26th was very interesting. Gertie Brummitt King, the author of “Alex Haley, The Man I Knew,” brought a copy of the book. It was good to listen to the experiences of a published author. We hope she continues to attend our class. Her input is welcome. Everyone is welcome. We all have to start somewhere. This Thursday would be just fine.

Since I enjoy an occasional fishing trip and dabble with a garden, I thought I knew a fair bit about worms. Little did I realize what amazingly beneficial little guys they are. The two most common worms we have in our area are the nightcrawler and the redworm. The nightcrawler is the larger of the two and can be 11 inches long and thick as a pencil.

With today’s growing emphasis on quality care, clinical outcomes and cost effectiveness, spinal manipulation is receiving increased attention.

I found out the hard way being married to a taxidermist can be hazardous to your health.

It started out innocently enough. I was cleaning house when my husband Tim came in from his taxidermy shop. He needed me to hold a deer steady while he bolted it onto a plaque. He made it sound so easy and simple. I should have known better.

Lying on his work table was this huge deer head with a massive set of twisted antlers. I wasn’t even sure where to put my hands to hold it steady. Tim told me to stand behind the head and hold it.

Year One, Week Nineteen

My pastor recently asked me to teach the adult Vacation Bible School class at our church this summer. I asked him if there was a book or specific topic he wished me to address. He said that he could get me a book or that I could choose one of my own.

I came home and examined my bookshelves. I found a book by Bill Hybels entitled Who You Are When No One’s Looking: Choosing Consistency, Resisting Compromise. What a fascinating subject, I thought.
