Leaders Grow in Union County

Leadership Union County (LUC) proudly gained four new graduates from the local program on September 17. The students enrolled in the six-month course beginning April 2019, attending a monthly class through September. The program focuses on developing leaders to help create a unified and progressive community by identifying opportunities and challenges, developing strategies, and providing resources to achieve community goals.

Movie Night in the Park

Summer is in full swing and Union County has a festive, family friendly event planned in the near future. The City of Maynardville along with Maynardville Public Library is sponsoring a Movie in the Park night at Wilson Park on Friday night, July 19, 2019.

David McCollough Celebrates 30 Years

In June 2019, David McCollough celebrated thirty years in the insurance industry. David is a State Farm Agent in Maynardville, Tennessee. He grew up in South Alabama with hardworking parents who taught him the importance of working to achieve your goals. David graduated from Troy University with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree. He has three children who live close by in beautiful East Tennessee; Jake, Abby, and John David.

Plainview Springfest Fires Up the Fun

The Luttrell Volunteer Fire Department hosted a fun-packed day at the Annual Plainview Spring Fest on Saturday, May 18. From 9:00am to 5:00pm, partakers could stop in at the Plainview Community Center for entertainment, vendors, auctions, children’s activities, delicious food, and even a visit to Snow Cone Eddie.

Insurance that the youth of today are prepared for tomorrow’s challenges as they grow more independent falls under the responsibility of us as teachers and role models. Communities progress from the education of adolescents, resulting in growth and sustainability.

Ag Committee Welcomes New Members

The UT Extension Agricultural Committee is set to meet on November 6th to welcome new members. UT Extension is an off-campus division of the UT Institute of Agriculture. Extension is a statewide educational organization, funded by federal, state, and local governments, bringing research based information to Tennesseans where they work and live. Information is available in a wide array of categories including Ag and Natural Resources, Family and Consumer Sciences, 4-H Youth Development, and Community Economic Development.
