Tyler Wayne Atkins-age 24 of Luttrell passed away Friday, June 14, 2019. He was preceded in death by mother, Misty Dawn (Nankervis) Atkins; brother, Matthew Atkins; grandfather, Jerry Nankervis; special grandmother, Bonnie DeVault.

Survivors: father, Chris Atkins; sister, Gracie Nankervis; grandparents, Gary and Phyllis Atkins; grandmother, Connie Condry; papaw, Jimmy DeVault; uncles, Jimmy (Julie) DeVault, Jr., Shawn and Shea Condry, Jerry and Cory Nankervis. Several cousins and other family members.

Audy B. Keck-age 72 of Sharps Chapel went home to be with the Lord after a long battle with cancer Thursday evening, June 13, 2019 at his home. Audy had a testimony of faith in the Lord, Jesus and was of the Baptist belief. He was a member of the Union County Rescue Squad. Preceded in death by parents, Warmer and Linda Keck; brothers, W. T., Joe, Jimmy and Harley Keck; sister-in-law, Nancy Keck; brothers-in-law, J. B. Stansberry and Jim Hayes.

Dorothy “Dot” Knott began her new journey June 13, 2019 with family at her side; Leaving behind daughters, Virginia Smothers (Mark), Deborah Hill, Lisa Gerard (Jeremy), step-daughter Donna Fisher, treasured grandkids and great-grandkids, as well as, her beloved Rocky Hill Baptist Church family and many other special friends. Family will receive friends 5:00-7:00pm Monday, June 17, 2019, at Rocky Hill Baptist Church with service to follow at 7:00pm, Dr. Scott Whaley officiating. Family and friends will meet 10:45am Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at Rocky Hill Cemetery for an 11:00am interment.

Erwin Lynn Berry – age 64 of Sharps Chapel, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 9, 2019. He was a member and deacon of Oak Grove Primitive Baptist Church. Erwin was an employee of Pilot Corporation for 38 years.

Eva Jean Lawson – 59, born August 18, 1959 to Cecil and Thelma “Judy” Branham in Welch, West Virginia, passed away June 11, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer. She married the love of her life, Roy E. Lawson in Monroe, Michigan on June 22, 1984. She was a nuclear security officer at Fermi II plant for 23 years and also a security officer at Monroe High School for 8 years.

Paul L. Llewellyn, age 74, of Knoxville, passed away on June 9, 2019.
Paul will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband. He was a Harley Davidson enthusiast and member of the Blue Hawks. He also loved animals, especially his dog Lucy.
Preceded in death by mother and father Addie and Tate Llewellyn; 3 sisters and 4 brothers.
Survived by wife of 49 years, Patricia “Aileen” Llewellyn; special nieces and nephews Kim, Paige, Corey, Wayne, Sandy and Sonny, David and Marty; special aunt Zula Maples and Mark Maples; Deb Talley, Anna Brewer, and an abundance of special friends.

Charles Hill Lowery – age 78 of Luttrell, passed away peacefully in his sleep Friday, June 7, 2019. He enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Jock Allen Ramsey-age 55 of Rutledge passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at his home. He was a member of Indian Ridge Baptist Church. Preceded in death by father, Dean Ramsey; grandparents, Jack and Edith Jennings; Hobert and Zulla Ramsey. Several cousins and other family members.

Survivors: mother, Hazel Ramsey; sister, Julie Ramsey, both of the home.

David Wayne Foster, 68 years old, of Knoxville, passed on to his heavenly home, while surrounded by his family, June 4, 2019. Retired from Vulcan Materials after 30 years of service, David always had a smile to offer and a funny to tell. He was a quick-witted prankster, always looking for his next victim. He always had an ear to listen and word of advice, even if we didn’t ask for it. We will miss his jokes, laughs and of course, his guidance. He was our Papaw with the peppermints. He is preceded in death by his parents, William Luther Foster Sr.

Marvin Edward Powers, age 85, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, May 31, 2019. He was an active member and pianist at Halls Primitive Baptist Church. He grew up in South Knoxville and graduated from Young High School in 1951. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in the Korean War. He began his banking career at Park National Bank in 1956 and retired from First American Bank in 1995.

On Saturday June 1, 2019, James Houk Whitaker loving husband and father of four lost his courageous battle with ALS at the age of 63.

He was born in Knoxville, TN to Betty Ann and James Whitaker.

He married Pamela in 1984 and together raised four children. Jim worked loyally for 30 years at Uster Technologies, a company he dearly loved.

Bobby Gene Paul-age 80 of Maynardville passed away suddenly Friday, May 31, 2019 at his home. Preceded in death by parents, David and Ruby Cecil (Tharp) Paul; brother, J. B., Charles, Herbert and Estel Paul.

Survivors: sisters, Ruby Moody of Clinton; Dolly June Buckner of Indiana; brothers, Stanley Paul of Indiana; Dennis Paul of Maynardville. Several nieces and nephews.

Leonard Wayne “Crip” Bailey-age 61 of Maynardville, born March 27, 1958 passed away Saturday morning, June 1, 2019 at Fort Sander’s Regional Medical Center after a battle with cancer. He was a member of Ailor Dale Baptist Church. Preceded in death by Son, Jamison Bailey; mother, Juanita Cooper; father, James Carson Bailey; step-father, Walter Cooper; nephew, Skyler Cooper; aunts, Elsie Hobock, Louise Brown, Mary Jane Blackburn and Irene Sweet; uncles, Willis Munsey, Herbert Munsey, Larry Munsey, Austin Munsey, Raymond Bailey, Carl Bailey and Glen Allen Bailey.

Howard Junior Beeler-age 84 of Luttrell went home to be with his Lord and Saviour Friday afternoon, May 31, 2019 at North Knoxville Medical Center. He was a faithful member and Deacon of New Friendship Baptist Church. He was a retired employee of Tom’s Food with 30 years of service. Howard loved to hunt and fish.

Joann Nicely Oxendine-age 72 of Luttrell went home to be with the Lord Tuesday afternoon, May 28, 2019 at Beverly Park Place. She was a member of Chestnut Grove Baptist Church. She was born December 22, 1946 the daughter of the late Charles and Caltha “Bailey” Nicely; also preceded in death by husband, Rev. Walter Oxendine; daughter, Joyce Leann Oxendine; brothers, Sherman, Walter, Cecil, Lee Roy and Eugene Nicely; sisters, Beulah Williams, Shirley Ailor and Pauline Kiser.

Virginia Haggard, age 80, of Powell, Tennessee, went to meet her Lord and Savior on May 28, 2019, surrounded by her loving family. She is now reunited with her friends and loved ones in Heaven. Jenny was born August 20, 1938, and was the last remaining child of Tip Curtis Hill and Leola Williams Coleman. She graduated in 1957 from Claiborne County High School, and was a long-standing, faithful member of Callahan Road Baptist Church.

Donald Michael Houser – age 69 of Andersonville. On the morning of May 16, 2019, Don was carried by angels into the arms of God. His pain is gone, he is at peace. He will be missed by all who loved him, and all who knew him, loved him. He was retired from the City of Knoxville Fire Department where he enjoyed many years of service and made many friends. Don was a member of Hines Creek Baptist Church. He was always singing and everyone loved hearing him sing gospel songs.

Danny Carson Clapp – age 52 of Corryton, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 25, 2019. He was a member of Reo of Knoxville, Church of God and an employee of West Rock.

Wanda Edith “Lambdin” Barton-age 81 of Maynardville passed away Saturday, May 25, 2019 at her home following a brief illness. She was a member of Oak Grove Primitive Baptist Church, Sharps Chapel. She was born May 10, 1938 the daughter of the late John and Blanchie (Ray) Lambdin; also preceded in death by brothers, Roy, Troy, Lawrence and Sherman Lambdin; sisters, Reba Cole and Goldie Mae Bull.
