Swan David Baker, Jr. –age 50 of Knoxville passed away suddenly Thursday, June 1, 2017 at his home. David was of the Baptist faith and a member of New Testament Baptist Church and formally of Dutch Valley Baptist. He was a former plant operator for Hallsdale-Powell Utility District. David is preceded in death by his father, Swan David Baker, Sr., aunt, Dorothy Lowery. Grandparents, Deadrick and Pauline Baker, Johnnie and Dewey Archer.

Bertie Graves Campbell

Bertie Graves Campbell-age 89 of Maynardville passed away Sunday morning, June 4, 2017 at her home. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Maynardville and was a retired employee of the Tennessee Department of Human Services and also the Union County Sheriff’s Office. Preceded in death by husband, Robert Campbell; sons, David and Tucker Campbell; grandson, Adam Jones; son-in-law, David Jones.

Charles Junior Williams

Rev. Walter Oxendine

Rev. Walter Oxendine-age 76 of Luttrell passed away Monday, May 29, 2017 at Beverly Park Place. He was a member and former pastor of Chestnut Grove Baptist Church. Preceded in death by infant daughter, Joyce Leann Oxendine; parents, Eddie Plumer and Ruby Hazel (Sands) Oxendine; sister, Frances Inklebarger.

Survivors: wife, Joann Nicely Oxendine; son, Eddie Oxendine of Luttrell; sisters, Alice Nicely, Maynardville; Betty Hayes, Morristown; brothers, R. G. Oxendine, Knoxville; Jesse Oxendine, Maynardville; Jimmy Oxendine, Blaine. Several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

George Allen Savage

George Allen Savage – age 76 of Luttrell, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on May 29, 2017 at 7:11 a.m. at his home surrounded by his loving family. He attended New Pleasant Gap Baptist Church and was an ordained Deacon for 31 years. George was employed for 29 years with Dempster Systems and was a current employee of Trinity Funeral Home. George had a love for softball with many remembering him for his years of coaching his softball teams, Tater Valley and Savage Construction.

Joel Lee Corum

Mr. Joel Lee Corum-age 57 of Maynardville, born November 10, 1959 passed away suddenly Sunday morning, May 28, 2017. He was of the Baptist faith and a delivery driver at Flowers by Bob. Preceded in death by parents, Robert Corum, Sr. and Shirley Jones; brothers, Wayne and Allan Corum; sister, Teresa; step-son, Shane Stinett.

Doyle Inklebarger

Doyle H. Inklebarger – age 78 of Corryton, went home to his Heavenly Father on Saturday, May 27, 2017. Doyle was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Doyle found joy in family, church, and hard work. He farmed in Tater Valley while building a career in inventory management and manufacturing. Starting at Standard Knitting Mills he learned the fundamentals of warehouse management and shipping. He leveraged this experience to earn an opportunity with Dempster Brothers, Inc. where he spent many years as a warehouse supervisor and fabrication manager.

Victor Bailey

Victor “Vick” Bailey-age 90 of Washburn went home to be with the Lord Friday morning, May 26, 2017 at his home. He was a retired employee of Grainger County Highway Department. Preceded in death by parents, Ed and Flossey Bailey; step-mother, Daisey Bailey; sister, Cleo Smith; brothers, James Bailey, Carson Bailey and Doyle Wayne Bailey

Troy Lee Ellison

Troy Lee Ellison – age 85 of Sharps Chapel, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 24, 2017. Troy was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Wilma Dean (Nelson) Ellison; daughter, Janet (Ricky) Collins; son, Bobby (Beth) Ellison; granddaughters, Corryne Huxley, and MiKayla Huxley; grandsons, Eric Lynn Collins, T. L. Ellison II and Jordan T. Ellison; great grandson, Connor Collins; and a big thank you to special dear friend, Mamaw Brantley. Kaye Nicley Stinnett-age 59 of Powder Springs passed away Monday, May 22, 2017 at Physicians Regional Medical Center. She was a member of New Beginnings Baptist Church and a retired employee of the U. S. Postal Service. Preceded in death by father, Hubert Nicley; twin-sister, Janice Faye Nicley.

Opal Izetta Raley Irick-age 96 of Maynardville, born June 21, 1920 passed away peacefully Monday, May 22, 2017 at Willow Ridge Center. She was a lifelong member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church. Preceded in death by husband of 63 years, Clayton Irick; parents, Dewey and Gladys Raley; brother, Gene Raley; daughter and son-in-law, Melba and Wayne Shoffner; son-in-law, Buck Cox; grandson, Donnie Cook; great-grandson, Tyler Beeler.

Leon Roger Ray-age 68 of Maynardville passed away Monday, May 22, 2017 at his home. He was a member of Spiritual Baptist Church. Preceded in death by parents, Lonnie and Lizzie Pratt Ray; brother, Leroy Ray; sister, Peggy Hines; nephew, Jamie Bailey.

Patricia Ann Greene – age 61 of Washburn, went home to be with the Lord and her loving parents on May 21, 2017. Patricia was an employee of Cherokee Health Systems in Blaine where she enjoyed working every day with her extended family.

Kenneth Ray Williams

Kenneth Ray Williams-age 70 of Luttrell took his Heavenly flight Saturday, May 20, 2017 at his home with his family by his side after a brief illness. He was born July 22, 1946 in Luttrell and was a member of Powder Springs Missionary Baptist Church where he served as Chairman of the Deacon Board and was Choir Director for many years. He was a Deacon for 47 years and a General Contractor for 50 years. Preceded in death by parents, Homer and Cleo (Dyer) Williams; father and mother-in-law, George H. and Anna Mae “Doll” Savage.

Misty Jane Wallace

Misty Jane Wallace-age 37 of Luttrell passed away suddenly Saturday morning, May 20, 2017 at her home due to health complications. Misty went home today to be reunited with her dad, Bill J. Wallace.

She is survived by mother, Imogene Parker of Corryton; fiancé: Cain Coker; two wonderful kids which she adored much, Sean Wilkins and Casey Coker; brothers, Mark Wallace, Billy J. Wallace, Philip Wallace, Stanley Wallace, Darrell Wallace, Ronnie Wallace, Donnie Wallace; sisters, Tandy Vanzant, Connie Maddox and Michelle Cole. Several nieces and nephews.

LaTesha Dawn McMahan

LaTesha Dawn McMahan-age 49 of Maynardville passed away Monday morning, May 15, 2017 at her home. She attended Lighthouse Church in Luttrell. Preceded in death by grandparents: Logan and Esther Washam, Bessie Rose Burnette and Homer Rose.
Survivors: parents, Homer Jack and Arlene B. (Washam) Rose; fiancé’, Caleb Graham; sister, Jackie Hawkins and husband, Richard; brother, Ritchie Rose and wife, Margaret. One niece, Brittany Scott; three nephews, Cody Hawkins, Shawn Rose and Erik Rose. Several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Reva P. Kitts

Reva Kitts-age 77 of Knoxville passed away suddenly 7:30 P.M. Monday, May 15, 2017 at her home. She was of the Baptist faith. Preceded in death by son, Dean Holley; mother, Grace Curlee; father, Guss Curlee, several brothers and sisters.
Survivors: daughter, Angela Davis of Corryton; granddaughter, Nicole Karnes and husband, Grant of Knoxville; great-grandson, Hunter Karnes; sister, Sara Ann Alardin of Texas; special friend, Gene Weaver of Knoxville.

Harry A. Waddington

Harry A. Waddington-age 94 formerly of Luttrell, TN passed away Sunday morning, May 14, 2017 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was a long time resident of Luttrell, TN, and member of Cedar Ford Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon for 30 years and church treasurer. A veteran of WWII, he served with C Company, 30th Infantry Regiment, and 3rd Division Battle Patrol and Headquarters Company 30th Infantry Regiment I and R Platoon 3rd Division. Harry was part of the offensive forces that invaded Anzio Beach in Italy and captured Rome.
