Winnie Effler

Winnie Elizabeth (Cox) Effler – age 79 of Maynardville, received her eternal reward on Thursday, November 6, 2025, following a lengthy illness. She was a member of Milan Baptist Church.
Winnie is preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Stella Cox; and brother, Alco Cox. Left to cherish Winnie’s memory is her beloved husband of fifty-eight years, John Effler. She is further survived by children, Jared and Mary Effler, Carl and Jane Hansen, and Jacob and Lauren Effler; grandchildren, Neilea Hansen, Katy Beth Effler, Eben Hansen, Mia Effler, Asher, Atlee and Ansley Effler; siblings, Millie Hartgrove, James and Ruth Sexton, Connie Nicely and Tim Cox; along with a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws and dear friends. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the many medical professionals who provided exemplary care, comfort and friendship to Winnie through her illness especially Emily Harless and everyone at Reliant Family Health.
The family will receive friends at Trinity Funeral Home, 228 Main Street, Maynardville, on Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon. A private graveside service and burial will follow at Effler Family Cemetery for immediate and extended family with nephew, Timothy Cox officiating. Winnie’s request was for memorial donations to be made to Effler Cemetery Maintenance Fund, c/o Wes Effler, 190 Quarry Road, Maynardville, Tennessee, 37807. Serving as pallbearers, Noah and Josh Sexton, Keith Cox, James Hartgrove, Joe Nicely and Eben Hansen. Winnie’s grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.
