Willis Douglas Warwick

Willis Douglas (Dud) Warwick-age 87 of Andersonville went to be with the Lord Thursday evening, August 31, 2023 at his home while surrounded by his family. He was a life long resident of the Big Ridge (Blue Mud) community. He worked as a plumber for over 40 years. He loved farming and spending time with his family, especially his grandson and great-grandchildren. He loved his church and church family at Hines Creek Baptist Church where he had been a member for many years and had a perfect attendance in Sunday School for 35 consecutive years. He was the last surviving child of his family.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Lassie Mae and father, Artie Verlin Warwick; brothers, Jay V. and Edgar; sisters, Lillian, Lorene, Bertha and Belvia. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Bonnie Peace Warwick of Andersonville. Daughter, Debbie (David) Richardson of Andersonville; special grandson, Brad Richardson of Andersonville; great-grandchildren, the light of his life, Charlotte and Tucker Richardson of Andersonville; sisters-in-law, Joann Smelser of Maynardville; Betty Flatford of Anderson, Indiana; Christine Peace of Andersonville. Several nieces, nephews and many other family members and friends.
The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Sunday, September 3, 2023 with the funeral service to follow at 7 p.m. Sunday, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Bobby Kitts, Rev. Mike Keck officiating with music by Scrap Iron Quartet from Hines Creek Church and The Sherritze Family. Interment 11 a.m. Monday, September 4, 2023, Ridenour Cemetery, Andersonville. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Monday to go with the funeral procession. Pallbearers: Brad Richardson, Todd Smith, Chase Maples, Cody Hensley, Johnny Noland, Josh Buckner. Honorary Pallbearers: David Richardson, Wayne Knauss, Clarence Byrd, Junior Loy, Bob Chutter, Ron Hatcher. The family would like to express a special thanks to Covenant Hospice Care Team Therapy.
