William “Bill” Tharp-age 92 of Maynardville passed away Sunday, January 25, 2026 at home. He was a member and Deacon of Temple Baptist Church in Knoxville. Bill was a retired employee of the City of Knoxville, Traffic Engineering Department with 25 years of service. Preceded in death by son, Wesley Tharp, parents, Vasco and Ollie Tharp; sisters and brothers, Rose Munsey, Reva Wyrick, Hazel Tharp, Dallas Tharp, John Tharp, Minnie Tharp.

Survivors: wife and caregiver, Lillian Evans; son, Calvin Tharp and wife, Faye Munsey; daughter, Allson Mynatt. Ten grandchildren, Logan Tharp, Megan Tharp, April Bailey, Steven Munsey Jacob Nicely, Katie Nicely, Ciara Williams, Tyler Williams, Cody Tharp. Joshua Tharp. Several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews along with a host of friends.

The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, January 28, 2026 with the funeral service to follow at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Jimmy Davidson, Rev. Josh Jones officiating with music by Rev. Richard and Linda Nicley. Interment 1 p.m. Thursday, January 29, 2026 at Pleasant View Cemetery, Maynardville. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home 12 p.m. Thursday to go with the procession. Pallbearers: Logan Tharp, Jacob Nicely, Tyler Williams, Cody Tharp, Joshua Tharp, Mark Williams, Anthony Coffey. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
