Thelma Ruth Johnson Walker-age 79 of Knoxville, born April 22, 1946 passed away Saturday, December 27, 2025 at Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center. She was a member of Loveland Baptist Church and attended Burnette’s Creek Baptist Church. Preceded in death by her loving parents, Willie and Trula Savage; brother, Ray Savage; nephew, Brad Lee; brother-in-law, Clyde Bailey.

Survivors: husband, James Nicley; loving and devoted son, Ronald (Susan) Johnson; grandson, Josh (Samantha) Johnson, great-grandsons whom she cherished, Jordon, Bentley and Braxton; step-son, Marshall (Denise) Nicley; step-grandson, Nathaniel (Valerie) Nicley; step great-grandsons, Jackson Nicley and Gregory Atkins. Sisters, Ruby (Wayne) McGee, Virginia Bailey, Sue (Joe) Hickle, Flora (Howard) Wilmoth, brother, Johnny (Rebecca) Savage. Several nieces, nephews and a lot of special cousins along with a host of friends.

The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2025 with the funeral service to follow at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Darrell Williams, Rev. Allen Rutherford officiating with music by the Williams Family and Nicole Hickle. Interment 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 31, 2025, Savage Cemetery, Luttrell. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home 1 p.m. Wednesday to go with the funeral procession. Pallbearers: Charlie Bailey, Lance Hickle, John David Savage, Michael McGee, Josh Johnson, Marshall Nicley. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
