Michael Cooper

Michael Steven Cooper age 69 formally of Maynardville went home to be with the Lord November 9 at Ft Sanders Hospital. He passed peacefully with his wife, children, and family by his side.
Born and raised in Maynardville, TN to Ralph and Shirley Cooper on June 22,1956. A 1975 Graduate of Horace Maynard High School, he retired from Big Ridge State Park after 42 years of service.
Michael was a great lover of sports especially his beloved UT Vols and Atlanta Braves. Michael held season tickets to both football and Lady Vols for many years.
He is preceded in death by parents Ralph and Shirley [Sharp] Cooper, brother Rev. Larry Cooper and beloved niece Mary Ann [Cooper] Cox, and nephew Joshua Cooper.
Survived by his cherished wife of 34 years Teresa [Day] Cooper, children Brittney [Mitchell] Biggs, Blair [Mitchell] and George Mills, Brian and Halee [Crider] Mitchell, grandsons that he adored Jacob Mills and Michael Mills, brothers and sister in laws Alma [Brewer] Cooper, Douglas and Cathy [Padgett] Cooper and Jeffery and Patricia [Baily] Cooper, nieces and nephews Ralph Cooper, Evan Cooper, Teresa [Cooper] Bays, Kimberlain Cooper, Jason Cooper, Kelly Cooper, Justin Cooper and Samuel Cooper and many cousins.

Pallbearers: Jacob Mills, Michael Mills, Ralph Cooper, Evan Cooper, Bob Crawford and Tony Reach. Honorary pallbearers are Doug and Jeff Cooper, Travis Bailey and Freddy Hutchison.
A very heartfelt thank you to the nurses and staff of Ridgeview Terrace of Life Care Center in Rutledge where he resided these last 7 months for all the love and care he received.
Family will receive friends Tuesday, November 11, 2025, from 5 to 7 pm with service to follow with Reverend Jason Cooper and Jim Bays officiating. Family and friends will meet at Trinity; Wednesday November 12, 2025, at 11: 45 am to go in procession to Cooper Family Cemetery at 150 Hansard Road for a1 pm Graveside.
