Mary Ruth Lawson Atkins-age 72 of Luttrell born, August 3, 1953, passed away Tuesday morning, January 20, 2026, surrounded by her family and friends. Mary was of the Baptist faith. She loved and took pleasure in cooking for her many friends and family. Preceded in death by her mother, Artie Faye Wyrick Lawson; father, John Henry Lawson; beloved son, James Henry Nicely; grandson, Kenneth Dewayne Nicley; brother, James Henry Lawson; sister, Joyce Ann Lawson Nicley; nephew, Gregory Allen Bailey; niece, Kimberly Ann Nicely.

Survived by her son, Teddy (Jeri) Nicley; daughter, Missy (Mike) Burkhart; sisters, Francis Charlene Bailey and Carol Lorraine Lawson; daughter-in-law, Brandi Nicely; uncle, Audi Wyrick; aunt, Cleo Lee; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Graveside service 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at Community Cemetery, Luttrell Rev. Leon Nicely officiating. Family and friends will meet 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home to go with the procession. Pallbearers: Cody Nicely, Tyler Bailey, J.J. Dotson, Jordan Bailey, Bryson Large, Jacob Nicley.
