James Carl Melton, Sr.-age 83 of Knoxville passed away Sunday, December 14, 2025, at his home. He was a member of Charity Baptist Church in Clinton. Preceded in death by his wife, Lula B. (Cook) Melton; parents, Rev. Alvis Melton and Litha (Duncan) Melton.

Survivors: son, James Carl Melton, Jr. and wife, Wendy June Melton; grandson, Cory Jacob Melton; granddaughter, Brittany Jordan Melton; brother-in-law, Ronald Scott Cook; sister-in-law, Barbara Ellen McNeely; 2 sisters, Emma Smith and husband, Dewey Smith, Carolyn Conkin. Several nieces and nephews along with a host of friends.
