Garry Lynn Johnson

In Loving Memory of the Best Dad There Ever Was

The world feels a little quieter without Garry Johnson, who passed away on October 22, 2025. He was so much more than a father, husband, son, and friend; he was a steady heartbeat that held the family together, the one who loved without limits, and gave everything he had without expecting anything back in return.

Born on March 20, 1958, in Maynardville, TN, Garry grew up with a deep love for his family, friends, hard work, and fixing things, especially cars. From the time he was young, you could always find him under a hood trying to fix something, his hands covered in grease, but he was still smiling the whole time. Working on cars wasn’t just his job; it was his passion, his peace, and the way he showed his love. He had a gift for fixing broken things and bringing them back to life, and that same gift extended to everyone around him. Garry was saved at a young age and a member of Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

He shared his life and love with his devoted wife, Shelia, who stood by his side through every joy and challenge. Together, they built a home filled with laughter, love, and memories that will never fade.
Garry was a proud and loving father to Morgan Johnson and Madison Webb and a very cherished “Pop-Pop” to his grandchildren. His daughter Madison and her husband Jeffery blessed him with four beautiful grandchildren who brought so much joy and light into his life.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents and sister, Ruby, Claude, and Nell Johnson, whom he missed dearly. It brings comfort knowing that they are together again.
Garry will be remembered for his big heart, his strong hands, and the way he could fix just about anything except the heartbreak of losing him. His laughter, his wisdom, and the sound of his voice will echo in the hearts and minds of everyone who loved him.

Dad, you were our rock, our hero, our comfort, and our home. Thank you for loving us the way you did; fully, endlessly, and unconditionally. You truly were the best dad there ever was.
