Elden Ray Capps

Elden Ray Capps-age 82 of Texas Valley Road, Knoxville, passed away Sunday, October 26, 2025, at Signature Healthcare of Rockwood, where he resided the past two years. He was saved at Powder Springs Baptist Church at a young age. He was a retired manager of Pilot Oil Store, Broadway, Knoxville and Rocky Top Shell in Dandridge. He was born November 15, 1942, in Powder Springs, the son of the late Roy Lee and Naomi (Perry) Capps. Also preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Barbara Ann Capps; sisters, Jane, Ruby, Yvonne; brothers, Jack, Ray, Coy, Loy and infant Roy Capps.

He is survived by his daughters, Sherry Capps and Kathy Southers; daughter and caregiver, Debra Wade; grandson, Kevin Hicks and wife, Stephanie Hicks; granddaughter, Kaylen Hicks, who was the love of his life.

The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff of Signature Healthcare of Rockwood for their wonderful care of Ray and Avalon Hospice for their great care and support.
Ray will be buried privately beside his wife. Arrangements by Cook-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
