Brenda K. Sharpe

Brenda Kay Sharpe, age 74, of Maynardville passed away peacefully at home the morning of September 17th, 2025, after fighting several health battles with tremendous courage, joy, and determination. Brenda loved and believed in Jesus and accepted Him as her savior at Pennington Chapel Church when she was 16 years old. She was a member of Hubbs Grove Baptist Church. Brenda worked as a textile machine operator, a mobile home escort driver, and a furniture maker. She also raised a son as a young, single mother. Her pride and joy were her two grandchildren, Emma and Ella.
Preceded in death by mother Pauline and father Isaac Sharpe; brother Jack Sharpe and sister-in law Joyce Sharpe; brother-in-law Austin Bailey; sister Nell Capps; special friend Kim Brantley; special cousin Kathy Jones; and niece Karen Craig.
Survived by her only child - son Michael Johnson, daughter in-law Crystal Johnson; grandchildren Emma Lay (husband Austin) and Ella Bates (husband Seth); sister Margaret Bailey; special nieces Debbie Sharp, Patty Lovelace; beloved nephews, Kenny Sharpe, Brian Sharp, Jim Bailey, Randy Capps; special friend, Wade Brantley.
Special thanks to the Union County EMS, Union County Officers Tim Johnson and Rick Carter, all the staff, nurses, and doctors at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center and the Tennessee Cancer Care Specialists of Knoxville.

The family will receive friends 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. Friday, September 19, 2025, at Cooke-Campbell Mortuary with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 P.M., Rev. Wade Brantley and Rev. Johnny Smith officiating, with music by Rev. Richard and Linda Nicley. Interment service to follow funeral service at Big Barren Cemetery, Maynardville. Pallbearers: Brian Sharp, Nicholas Sharp, Bryson Sharp, Kenny Sharpe, Zachary Sharpe, Ryan Sharpe. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
