On Friday, October 6 and Saturday, October 7, 2023, District Attorney General Jared Effler and staff, in partnership with the Children’s Centers of the 8th Judicial District, hosted the Eighth Annual Dixie Roofing Clays for Children Sporting Clays Tournament at Iron Mountain Sporting Clays in Kodak, Tennessee. The purpose of the event was to raise money to support the Children’s Centers of the 8th Judicial District, comprised of Campbell, Claiborne, Fentress, Scott, and Union counties.

I look forward to the skies of September and October and their intense blue every year. Autumn skies typically have a lot of big puffy cumulus clouds as well, highlighting the blue even more. Instead, most treatments being offered to teenagers with back pain tend to ignore the ‘big picture’ issues such as sleep, mood, stress, and relationships. “Traditional approaches such as exercise can play a useful role in helping teenagers with back pain,” explained researcher Sara D.

Who doesn’t love a good celebration? I even attended one while being injured, but this time, it wasn’t from a fall.
My stepfather has two granddaughters who graduated from high school together in Ormond Beach, Florida. My step brother and sisters invited all of us to come down for the celebration.

You can't go wrong with a German Chocolate Cake mix. Add some nuts and caramels to it and you have a winner again. Preheat oven to 350 F. Mix dry cake mix, softened butter and egg until crumbly. Reserve 1 1/2 cups of the mixture. Press remaining crumbly dough into an ungreased 9 by 13 inch baking pan. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until crust appears dry. Remove from oven and cool 10 minutes. Meanwhile, in small saucepan over low heat, combine the extra margarine, milk and caramels over low heat, stirring occasionally, until caramels are melted. Pour over crust. Sprinkle with nuts and reserved crumbly mixture.
