Timothy "Timmy" Mark Maples
It is with heavy hearts that we remember Timothy “Timmy” Maples-age 62 of Tazewell passed away Friday, April 10, 2026. He was a devoted father, beloved uncle, and a man whose selfless nature touched everyone who knew him.
Timmy was, above all, a loving father to his son, Joshua Maples. His love wasn’t loud—it was steady, constant, and shown through the way he always put family first. He was the kind of man you could count on, the kind who gave without asking for anything in return, and whose presence alone made life feel a little more grounded. Family meant everything to him. Some of his happiest moments were spent surrounded by loved ones, especially his great nieces, who brought out his gentle smile and playful side. Whether it was sitting together, sharing quiet moments, or simply enjoying each other’s company, those were the times he treasured most. Timmy also shared a special bond with his niece Destiny and her husband Bill, who stood by him through everything. Their love and support meant the world to him, and he carried deep appreciation for them in his heart. He found peace in the simple things—especially fishing. Out on the water, he could slow down, reflect, and enjoy life in a way that suited him perfectly. It was never just about the catch; it was about the calm, the quiet, and the moment. He also had a fond love for the Tennessee Vols, often showing his pride in his own laid-back way. And for those who knew him well, they knew about his Chevelle—his favorite car and a reflection of a part of him that appreciated classic things that stood the test of time. Timmy will be remembered for his kindness, his patience, and his unwavering love for his family. He lived a life of quiet strength and generosity, leaving behind a legacy of love that will continue on through those who knew him best. He was preceded in death and welcomed home by his mother, Loretta Maples, and father Swan Maples.
He is survived by his loving son, Joshua Maples; his niece, Destiny, and her husband, Bill; his cherished great nieces and many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
A private graveside memorial will be held 4 PM Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Jackson Cemetery, Lone Mountain. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
