Horace Maynard Middle School Announces New Coaches

Horace Maynard Middle School is kicking off the 2025–2026 school year with exciting additions to its athletic programs, naming new head coaches in baseball, softball, and volleyball.
Josh Orrick and Jason Fuller will serve as Co-Head Coaches for HMMS Baseball. Orrick returns with a championship background, having led Union County High School to a state title in 2023 and earning State Coach of the Year. Fuller, a longtime coach with travel ball and past experience at HMMS, brings a strong background in player development. Together, they aim to continue the proud tradition of Red Devil Baseball.
Zavie Ford steps in as the new Head Volleyball Coach. A Clinton High alum and former UTC Club Volleyball player, Ford brings nearly a decade of playing experience and multiple seasons of coaching. Her goal is to build HMMS Volleyball into a competitive and inspiring program for student-athletes.
Jessica Cooke has been named Head Softball Coach. A Union County native and former UCHS player, Cooke combines years of coaching experience with a lifelong passion for the game. She looks forward to mentoring her players and growing the Lady Red Devils on and off the field.
HMMS will host a Meet and Greet for these newly announced coaches, new Athletic Director DJ Taylor, and coaches of other teams at the school on Tuesday, July 15th from 6-7pm in the HMMS Cafeteria. The night will start with some brief introductions and then opportunities to interact with the coaches.
