Faith Boxes, Part 2

Student leader Anthony Mills shows Faith box to the Director of TVCH Outreach, Macrea Love.

The construction Career and Technical (CTE) class at Union County High School spent much of this semester building 20 beautiful, utilitarian storage boxes for folks placed in new homes by the TN Valley Coalition for the Homeless (TVCH).

TVCH is a non-profit organization existing to house the homeless, educate the community, and equip stakeholders to provide lasting solutions to homelessness. They are active in 12 counties, including Union County.

Macrea Love, Director of TVCH Outreach, was at UCHS to accept the boxes. Initially, the boxes will be filled with various food items, hygiene supplies, pajamas, snacks, flashlights, batteries, and other supplies that the folks can use. And then folks can use them to store their possessions as they get settled. The TVCH is grateful to the students in this UCHS class for conceiving this idea and constructing the boxes.

Class Instructor Mark Majors introduced Macrea Love to the class. The class conceived the project and built the boxes.
