District Attorney’s Office Hosts Missing Person Investigation and Alert Training

On November 5, 2025, the 8th Judicial District Attorney’s Office, in partnership with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, hosted a Missing Person Investigation and Alert Training for local law enforcement partners at the First Baptist Church of New Tazewell. The training provided critical information to law enforcement on the many resources available when conducting a missing person investigation. This included the various alerts the T.B.I. has the authority to issue as well as practical investigative tactics for locating missing persons. The presenters conducting the training were Criminal Intelligence Analyst Marisha Byrd, Special Agent Blake Ketron, and Special Agent Steve Lowe all from the T.B.I. Local law enforcement across the district were present for this training.
8th Judicial District Attorney General Jared Effler stated, “I am grateful that the T.B.I. was able to provide critical information to our law enforcement partners on the resources available in missing persons investigations. This type of training will be invaluable in making sure that every resource available can be utilized by our law enforcement partners to locate a missing person. I also would like to thank the First Baptist Church of New Tazewell for being gracious hosts to this very important training.”
